Privlaka - Things To Do

The area of Privlaka is an oasis of shallow long-stretching sandy lagoons, removed from the signs of traffic and industry. The shallow sea in the enclosed bay has higher temperature of about 2-3 degrees than in the open seal. Next to Privlaka, the weekend settlement of Sabunike famous for its sandy beaches. Only one kilometer away you'll find Croatia's oldest royal city - Nin dating from the 9th century.

The most outstanding monument, unique in its architectonic style, is a small Old-Croatian church of St. Cross from the 9th century,representing a gem among the cultural monuments of its kind one can see. In Nin there is the largest known deposit of therapeutic peloid on the Adriatic coast. Experts from the medical faculty at Vienna and Zagreb analized the physical-chemical properties of this therapeutic peloid. The excellent results lead to a small outpatient clinic being built there, and open air rehabilitation is performed during summer months.

The famous holiday village Zaton is 3 km away. If you want to visit the biggest disco on the Adriatic you'll find Saturnus disco that offers programs and appearances by well-known DJs. For the more active in Zaton there is a rich variety of different sport activites, from water skiing to windsurfing.

Privlaka is situated in the Zadar region which includes 5 national parks and 3 Nature Parks for which there are organized full-day and half-day guided bus tours to the national parks of Plitvice Lakes, Krka Waterfalls and Paklenica, and boat tours to the Kornat Islands, Telasčica Nature Park.
